Humidor Size & Capacity Calculator

Common Humidor Sizes

10" × 8" × 4" (outside)
~20–30 cigars
Occasional smoker, smaller rotation.
12" × 9" × 5" (outside)
~40–60 cigars
Regular rotation, light aging.
16" × 10" × 6" (outside)
~80–110 cigars
Variety, aging space, fewer compromises.
Counts vary by format and spacing. These are realistic ranges, not marketing math.
Inside vs Outside Dimensions
Outside dimensions are what you measure across the exterior of the humidor.
Usable inside space is smaller because of Spanish cedar lining and normal build tolerances.
Lid clearance also reduces usable height, especially with trays or layered storage.
Bottom line: if a retailer says “100 cigars,” assume that’s an optimistic best case.

Real Capacity. Real Construction.
Capacities here reflect real-world spacing, Spanish cedar lining, and lid clearance. Most retail humidors inflate cigar counts. These estimates do not.
